The Greenwich Croquet Club is a friendly group, dedicated to the timeless sport. We welcome players, experienced and new, to come play with us.

Whether you’re seeking a relaxing pastime, friendly competition, or an opportunity to connect with fellow croquet enthusiasts, GCC is the perfect place to discover the charm and challenge of croquet.

A brief history of our club:

Founded in the early 1990s in Greenwich, Connecticut, the Greenwich Croquet Club began as a small group of enthusiasts seeking to revive interest in a very old game. Beginning on a few private courts, the club quickly gained momentum as new players embraced the sport’s blend of strategy and social engagement.

By the mid-1990's, the GCC had grown significantly, prompting the move to the park where it shared a lawn and facilities with the Greenwich Lawn Bowling Club. As interest in lawn bowling waned, the GCC acquired full use of the park facilities.

Throughout its early years, the club prioritized community involvement and inclusivity. Social events as charity matches brought together players of all ages and skill levels, fostering a strong sense of camaraderie among members. This emphasis on connection and enjoyment remains a cornerstone of the club’s ethos.

As it nears three decades of success, the Greenwich Croquet Club looks to the future with a focus on growth and innovation.
