A brief history of our club:

Founded in the early 1990s in Greenwich, Connecticut, the Greenwich Croquet Club began as a small group of enthusiasts seeking to revive interest in the timeless game of croquet. Starting on private property, the club quickly gained traction as local residents embraced the sport’s blend of strategy and social engagement.

By mid-1990s, the GCC had grown significantly, prompting the move to the park where it shared a lawn and facilities with the Greenwich Lawn Bowling Club. As interest in lawn bowling waned he GCC acquired full use of the park facilities.

Throughout its early years, the club prioritized community involvement and inclusivity. Social events such as themed garden parties and charity matches brought together players of all ages and skill levels, fostering a strong sense of camaraderie among members. Though the garden parties have waned, the emphasis on connection and enjoyment remains a cornerstone of the club’s ethos. Today, the GCC continues to inspire a love for the sport while providing a space for meaningful connections.

As it nears three decades of success, the Greenwich Croquet Club looks to the future with a focus on growth and innovation.
